Problems of Education Sphere Discussed with Students during Meeting

On April 17, within the framework of the RA NA Open Doors programme the students of the Faculty of Law of the Northern University visited the parliament. The Founder-Chancellor Boris Makichyan, the Head of the Centre for Scientific Studies of the University, Doctor of Sciences (in Philosophy) Grigor Asatryan and lecturers accompanied them.

The guests took a tour in the parliament building and followed the work of the NA regular sitting. The member of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Sofia Hovsepyan met with them and held an open lesson.

The MP presented the structure of the parliament, the activities of the Standing Committees and the debate procedure of the legislative initiatives.

Sofia Hovsepyan answered to the questions concerning the students, which mainly related to the higher education and post graduate education, the competition between the higher educational institutions and the necessary legislative amendments.

According to the MP, the existing problems will be solved in the course of time also through legislative means.

The Chancellor of the Northern University invited Sofia Hovsepyan to give lectures in the higher educational institution. Boris Makichyan gave a book written by him as a present to the MP titled The Problems of the Higher Education , where the problems of the education sphere, the observations and recommendations concerning the processes aimed at the reform of the sphere.

The participants of the open lesson were taken photo in the NA Session Hall and then visited the NA Museum.
