1 / 3

On April 5, on the initiative of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs the representatives of the Small and Medium Entrepreneurship (SME) and the IT sphere were invited to the parliament to discuss the package of the draft laws on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA law on State Support of the Information Technologies Sphere and on Amending the RA Tax Code authored by the RA Government and passed in the first reading by the parliament.

As the Head of the Legal Department of the RA Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Artashes Hovsepyan has noted, the goal of the package is the boosting of the competition in the sphere of information technologies, the involvement of the skillful specialists, foreign investments and the implementation of the scientific works through grant programmes.

The members of the RA NA Bright Armenia and My Step Factions presented recommendations for improving the legislative package and excluding the unequal attitude towards local companies.

Summing up the debate the Committee Chair Babken Tunyan effectively assessed it, urged the participants to submit proposals aimed at the improvement not only of the package, but also the sphere in the written form.
