Armenian Parliamentarians Meet with Representatives of U.S. National War College

On April 2, the members of the NA Standing Committees on Defense and Security on Foreign Relations met with the representatives of the U.S. National War College. The guests study the ongoing processes in the region during their educational practice.

They welcomed the free and fair elections occurred in Armenia, as well as the steps being taken in the development of democracy and were interested in the legislative amendments necessary in our country, particularly for the implementation of the economic revolution.

The parliamentarians have noted that the processes going on after the velvet revolution are based on exclusively democratic values. The deputies highlighted the development of democratic institutes in our country and talked about the reforms being implemented in the sphere of economy and in the justice system.

The participants also touched upon the important role of the parliament in combating corruption.

It has been noted that all political forces support the announced economic revolution. In this context the amendments being designed in the Tax Code in the future was highlighted.

The interlocutors evaluated the use of the democratic reforms in Armenia aimed at the U.S. support.

During the meeting both sides considered other issues of bilateral interest.
