At March 25 press conference, the members of the Armenian Delegation to IPA CIS Varazdat Karapetyan, Anush Begloian, Tigran Ulikhanyan and Armen Pambukhchyan presented details on March 14 meetings of the Permanent Commissions of the organization.

Varazdat Karapetyan informed that he was elected the Chairman of the Permanent Commission on Economy and Finance.

At the meeting draft laws on a number of model laws, particularly the price formation and tax administration were discussed: they could be a guideline while working out the national legislations. The draft laws would be discussed at the Plenary Meeting of the Assembly. Anush Begloian, who was elected Deputy Chairperson of the Permanent Commission on Culture, Information, Tourism and Sport, informed that numerous model draft laws were discussed in the Commission, including the school sport, social tourism.

The draft Convention on Preservation of Cultural Values is on the Commission agenda, and its debate had been postponed by half a year. The Armenian delegation envisages presenting a series of recommendations. The Convention will be proposed for the ratification of the national parliaments in the future.

Armen Pambukhchyan worked in the Permanent Commission on Science and Education. 12 draft laws were discussed, the Armenian MPs presented recommendations on three of them, which were accepted.

Tigran Ulikhanyan talked about the works of the Budget Oversight Commission and informed that the report of the budget executive sheet for 2018 and the issue of the memberships for 2019-2020 of the IPA CIS member countries were discussed.

According to the speakers, about 10 per cent of the model laws being proposed by the Commissions becomes as a basis while working out bills for the CIS member countries, hence a decision was made to call into life such bills which would be used in practice.
