The delegation led by the President of the RA National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan on an official visit in Germany, on March 20 had a meeting in the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), after which met with the Michael Roth, Minister of State for Europe at the Federal Foreign Office.

In the course of the meeting issues concerning the protection of human rights, the calling into life the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Agreement, as well as regional security were discussed. The sides underlined the role of the Eastern Partnership for the European Union and discussed the importance of beginning negotiations on visa liberalisation.

The members of the Armenian delegation took part in the Plenary Sitting of the Bundestag, where the President of the Bundestag Wolfgang Schäuble welcomed Ararat Mirzoyan in the German Parliament.

During the working dinner the parliamentarians with the Professor Doctor of Saarland University Manfred Schmitt discussed issues on the Armenian-German possible new cooperation format in the spheres of education and research.

The Mayor of the district town of Saarlouis Peter Demmer received the delegation led by the NA President that had arrived in Saarland. The Head of the legislative body left a note in the Book of Honourable Guests of the town of Saarlouis.

On March 21, the visit of the delegation led by Ararat Mirzoyan is expected to Saarland University, where the Head of the parliament will meet with the students. The working day will continue in the Parliament of Saarland, where issues of bilateral interest would be discussed.
