Alen Simonyan Receives Ambassador of Georgia to Armenia

On March 19, the RA NA Vice President Alen Simonyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia George Saganelidze.

Welcoming the Ambassador the NA Vice President highly assessed the Armenian and Georgian peoples' relations and highlighted the official visit of the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili to Armenia recently.

The interlocutors touched upon the issues of key significance for the two countries, considered necessary the development and strengthening of the inter-parliamentary relations and reserve special importance to the mutually beneficial cooperation on the international platforms.

Speaking about the regional problems Alen Simonyan emphasized the role of Georgia aimed at the provision of security, underlining that any instability can be destructive for all sides.

The Ambassador of Georgia George Saganelidze also stressed the necessity of solving the regional conflicts through peaceful means irrespective of their differences.

The sides considered necessary to develop and strengthen the two countries' relations in the inter-parliamentary and other spheres. The strengthening of cooperation in the sphere of energy was especially emphasized.

Expressing his gratitude to Alen Simpnyan for the warm reception Ambassador Saganelidze has informed that the President of the Georgian Parliament designs to visit Armenia on an official visit in summer months.
