On March 12, the first sitting of the Working Group of the Scientific Expert Council adjunct to the RA National Assembly Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration was held.

The RA NA deputies, representatives of the civil society and the international structures, the NGOs, the Eurasian Expert Club, Yerevan State University, the Armenian State University of Economics/ASUE, the Armenian National Agrarian University, the Diplomatic School of Armenia, economists and experts took part there.

Welcoming the attendees the Committee Chair underlined the importance and topicality of similar platform of cooperation. Mikayel Melkumyan has touched upon the themes, which relate to the establishment of the united Eurasian market, the formation of the social, industrial environments, the free industrial zones, the digitization and the regional integration processes.

The Coordinator of the Eurasian Expert Club Aram Safaryan has noted that the members of the Club are ready to invest their professional experience in the effective solution of the issues in the system and its government for the benefit of Armenia’s economy development, the strengthening of self-sovereignty and reinforcement of the international relations. The year 2019 is the year for Armenia’s Chairmanship in the EEU, and to Aram Safaryan’s conviction, it is necessary to pursue such information, cultural policy, which would promote the strengthening of the ties between the member states, as well as decently presenting the interests of our country in the EEU and beyond it.

The Doctor of Economics, Professor Tatul Manaseryan touched upon the launching of the economic potential of the Artsakh Republic to the EEU and Armenia-Artsakh economic integration.

The Chairman of the NGO Logika Ara Karyan presented the results of the researches and analyses made on the themes Opportunities of the Increase of the Gas Import from Iran to Armenia and Transit to Georgia and the RA Economic Self-Sovereignty, the Rise of Gas Price, the Opportunity of Maintenance of the Tariff: the Steps of Solution and the Results .

The MPs Armen Pambukhchyan, Aleksey Sandikov, Vagharshak Hakobyan and other speakers referred to the issues concerning the economic diplomacy, the foreign economic policy, the formation of the boosting model of the investments in the framework of the EEU, the necessity of the tax policy elaboration, the public diplomacy, the use of the engineering mind potential, the currency union, the need of creating currency zone, the agrarian system and food security.
