On February 15, the representatives of the RA NA Factions met with the delegation led by the Chair of the Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Links with Compatriots of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Leonid Kalashnikov.

From My Step faction the Head of the Faction Lilit Makunts, members Ruben Rubinyan, Vagharshak Hakobyan, Armen Pambukhchyan, Vahe Hovhannisyan, Narek Mkrtchyan, Aleksey Sandikov and Gor Gevorgyan took part in the meeting.

Welcoming the guests in the parliament Lilit Makunts underlined the centuries-old friendship laid on the basis of the Armenian-Russian relations. Highlighting the role of the parliamentary diplomacy she expressed conviction that the cooperation would be continuous on the international platforms.

In further development of the two countries’ inter-state relations Leonid Kalashnikov highlighted the mutually beneficial cooperation between the legislative bodies. According to him, the relations between Russia and Armenia have been and remain at high level.

The Secretary of the RA NA Prosperous Armenia Arman Abovyan, members of the Faction Sergey Bagratyan, Vardevan Grigoryan, Nora Arustamyan, Artur Dallakyan, Artyom Tsarukyan and Soghomon Soghomonyan took part in the meeting.

Arman Abovyan has highly assessed the Armenian-Russian cooperation and has noted that it is effective and stably develops.

The Chair of the RF FA State Duma Committee has underscored that this format of partnership cooperation fills in the high level of the political dialogue which exists in the relations of the two countries.

The sides emphasized the mutually beneficial cooperation on different international platforms, considered necessary the implementation of such programmes which would promote the deepening and expansion of the spiritual-cultural ties of the two peoples, especially the young people. The expansion of the inter-community contacts in the two countries was also highlighted.

The Head of the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction Edmon Marukyan, members of the Faction Gurgen Baghdasaryan, Harutyun Babayan, Mane Tandilyan, Arkady Khachatryan, rmen Yeghiazaryan and Hrant Ayvazyan also met with the delegation led by the Chair of RF FA State Duma the Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Links with Compatriots Leonid Kalashnikov.

The Armenian and Russian MPs considered necessary the further deepening and strengthening of the inter-parliamentary ties and emphasized the mutual effective cooperation on different international platforms.

Leonid Kalashnikov especially attached importance to the process of harmonization of the two countries’ national legislations expressing readiness for support.

Welcoming the visit of the delegation to Armenia the Head of the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction Edmon Marukyan on behalf of the Faction expressed willingness to deepen the cooperation with the Russian political parties and discuss certain issues demanding solution in a new way.

Edmon Marukyan informed his Russian colleagues about the directions of the activities of Bright Armenia Party and emphasized the strengthening of the effective cooperation with them.

The Head of the Faction has also talked about some issues which need debate and solution. He has clarified that they relate to the Armenian immigrants on the territory of the Russian Federation, and some of them referred to the problems on the deportation.

The interlocutors also discussed the issues on the Armenian-Russian multilateral relations, the cooperation on different international platforms and a number of regional problems.
