On February 9, the working visit of the Speaker of the RA National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan to the Artsakh Republic began.
The meeting of the Speakers of the parliaments of the two Armenian republics was held in the National Assembly of Artsakh. During the tête-à-tête talk Ararat Mirzoyan and Ashot Ghulyan highly assessed the cooperation existing between the two parliaments and expressed readiness to raise it to a new qualitative level. A number of issues concerning the parliamentary diplomacy were discussed, and the continuous meetings and joint sittings at the level of committees of the parliaments of Armenia and Artsakh were highlighted. The sides underlined the importance of the exchange of experience between the parliaments, as well as the joint work on the general agenda on the international platforms.
Afterwards the meeting went on in expanded format with the participation of the heads of the NA factions and committees and deputies, during which the Speaker of the RA National Assembly answered the questions of the deputies of the National Assembly of Artsakh and presented his vision of cooperation between the two parliaments.
Let us note that after assuming the NA Speaker's post this is Ararat Mirzoyan's first visit. During the visit the Head of the parliament also visited Stepanaket Memorial Complex and paid tribute to the memory of the martyrs of Artsakh freedom fighting and the victims of the Great Patriotic War. The Head of the parliament went to Kristapor Ivanyan's Military College and talked with the teachers and students.
