On February 8, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs Naira Zohrabyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Armenia Timur Urazayev.

Congratulating Naira Zohrabyan on being elected in the position of the Committee Chair, Ambassador Urazayev has noted that the Ambassadors accredited in Armenia have discussed and greeted Naira Zohrabyan’s appointment in this most important position, as she is a politician of principle.

Naira Zohrabyan presented the agenda of the activities of the Committee led by her. She expressed readiness to actively work with the Committees being engaged with human rights of the parliament of Kazakhstan, also taking into consideration the presence of the Armenian community in Kazakhstan.

The Ambassador has noted that his country takes serious steps for joining the international conventions, on the basis of which are the human rights, the fair judicial system: at this moment the joining of Kazakhstan to CoE Greco anti-corruption international organization.

The sides discussed the problems existing in the framework of the EEU. The Committee Chair has stated that any item shall be solved through dialogue, there are not and shall not be unsolved problems between the partners. She emphasized the involvement of the investments in Armenia, especially at this phase: when a new period of economic revolution was announced in our country. To Naira Zohrabyan’s conviction, new rules of the game for the investments and development in Armenia function, and our state is ready to become a warrant in making investments.

The interlocutors also debated issues concerning the peaceful settlement of the NK conflict and the regional cooperation.
