Head of Parliament Receives Ambassador of Czech Republic to Armenia

On February 1, the President of RA National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Armenia Petr Mikyska.

The Head of the legislative body has noted that Armenia greatly highlights the development of the relations with the Czech Republic, the cooperation in numerous spheres and the inter-parliamentary active contacts.

Underlining the close cooperation of the parliamentary delegations between the two countries on the international platforms, Ararat Mirzoyan expressed hope that the Friendship Group of the newly elected parliament to be formed in the future with its activities would promote their further enlargement.

Touching upon the ratification process of Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, the Head of the parliament highly assessed the ratification of the Agreement by the Czech Senate on May 17, 2018 and expressed hope that the Chamber of Deputies also would not delay the adoption of the document.

Petr Mikyska conveyed Ararat Mirzoyan the congratulations by the Presidents of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic on being elected President of the National Assembly.

The Ambassador emphasized the fair, transparent and democratic elections held in Armenia, as a result of which a parliament enjoying the people’s trust was formed. Touching upon the development of bilateral relations and inter-parliamentary ties, Petr Mikyska evaluated the role of the parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening of cooperation between the friendly countries. The Ambassador expressed readiness for assisting the implementation of the bilateral beneficial programmes.

The interlocutors also exchanged thoughts on the process of EU entry visa facilitation for the citizens of Armenia.
