Parliament Passes Draft Law on State Budget of Republic of Armenia for 2019

On November 22, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the extraordinary sitting.

The MPs debated in the second reading and completely the draft law on Making Amendments and Addendum on Provision of Officials’ Activity, Service and Social Guarantees authored by the government.

The RA First Deputy Minister of Justice Artur Hovhannisyan informed that a recommendation was received from the RA NA RPA Faction which was not accepted, as it did not relate with the draft law.

The Member of the RA NA RPA Faction Armen Ashotyan urged his colleagues to vote against the draft law.

The RA First Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan delivered a speech and clarified that the recommendation presented by the RPA Faction had no relation with the draft law, hence it was not accepted.

The bill on Amending the RA Law on Making Addenda and Amendments to the RA Labor Code authored by the Government, which was presented the RA Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Smbat Saiyan, was also debated in the second reading and completely.

Afterwards the MPs passed by voting the abovementioned draft laws debated on the previous day, among them also the draft law on the RA State Budget for 2019.

The RA NA Deputy Speakers Eduard Sharmazanov and Arpine Hovhannisyan, the Head of the RA NA RPA Faction Vahram Baghdasaryan and the Member of the RA NA RPA Faction Armen Ashotyan informed that they would vote against the draft state budget.

The Member of the RA NA Tsarukyan Faction Tigran Urikhanyan informed that their Faction would vote for it.

As a result of voting, the 66 MPs voted for the draft law, 4 were against it and 2 abstained from voting.

The parliament ended the work of the extraordinary sitting.
