Ara Babloyan Receives Delegation Headed by Leonid Kalashnikov

On September 13, the President of the RA National Assembly Ara Babloyan received the delegation headed by the Chairman of the Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Leonid Kalashnikov.

Welcoming the guests in the parliament, Ara Babloyan underlined the strategic cooperation and the traditional centuries-old friendship existing between the Armenian-Russian relations.

The President of the National Assembly highlighted the mutually beneficial cooperation of the legislative bodies in the continuous development of the inter-state relations.

According to Leonid Kalashnikov, the relations between Russia and Armenia have been and remain at high level.

Highlighting the role of the parliamentary diplomacy, he also touched upon the continuity of the effective cooperation on the international parliamentary platforms.

At the meeting items regarding the holding of the CSTO PA Council and the CSTO PA plenary sessions in Yerevan on October 29-30 were discussed. The sides referred to the parliamentary cooperation within the framework of the CSTO, underlined the role of the Assembly in the provision of the regional security.

The interlocutors stressed the dynamic development of bilateral relations in all spheres and discussed ways of implementing new joint programmes.
