On September 12, the President of the RA National Assembly Ara Babloyan received the delegation led by the Chairman of France-Armenia Friendship Group of the Senate of the Republic of France Gilbert-Luc Devinaz. The Head of the RA NA Armenia-France Friendship Group Armen Rustamyan also attended the meeting.
Welcoming the visit of the delegation to Armenia, Ara Babloyan underlined the high level of the Armenian-French friendly and brotherly relations.
Regarding the favourable cooperation of the Friendship Groups functioning in the parliaments of the two countries, the NA President noted that it should further strengthen and develop in a new way.
The Head of the legislative body assured the guests: “Regardless of the changes occurred in our country and the position of the political forces in different issues in the preservation and development of the Armenian-French relations everybody holds the same opinion.”
Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception, the Chairman of France-Armenia Friendship Group of the Senate of the Republic of France Gilbert-Luc Devinaz evaluated the friendship of the two peoples’ centuries-old history.
The Head of the delegation highlighted the activities of the Friendship Groups aimed at the strengthening of the bilateral ties, the expansion of the relations, essentially underscoring the necessity of the development and the deepening of the economic cooperation.
Ara Babloyan and Gilbert-Luc Devinaz have exchanged thoughts on implementing new programmes in numerous spheres and reaching to an end the existing programmes, documenting that there is non-used potential in the economic sphere.
At the meeting both sides touched upon the regional problems and stressed the importance of the peaceful settlement of the conflicts.
