On September 11, the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly George Tsereteli met with the members of the RA NA Delegation to OSCE PA in the RA National Assembly. The OSCE PA Secretary General Roberto Montella and the Chief of the OSCE PA Executive Office Andreas Baker also took part in the meeting.

Welcoming the guests in the parliament, the Head of the RA NA Delegation to OSCE PA Hermine Naghdalyan highly assessed the role of the structure in the process of the inter-parliamentary dialogue process.

George Tsereteli highlighted the more active and constructive cooperation in the OSCE PA.

Both sides touched upon the regional problems, the recent political developments of Armenia, the implementation procedure of the reforms and the issues concerning the protection of human rights.

With regards to the NK conflict Hermine Naghdalyan considered prior the peaceful settlement within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group, underlining that the positions of Armenia on the settlement are consonant with the approaches of the international community and the principle of solving the conflict through negotiations. Armenia always calls on its partner parliaments and the inter-parliamentary organizations to be consonant with the announcements of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs on Nagorno Karabakh in their viewpoints and resolutions. The Head of the delegation has noted that the basis of the conflict settlement is the recognition of the right of people of Nagorno Karabakh to self-determination and the realization of that right.

On the same day the Delegation led by the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly George Tsereteli also met with the heads of the RA NA RPA and Yelq/Way Out factions.

Vahram Baghdasaryan and Gevorg Gorgisyan highlighted the effective cooperation with the European colleagues.

At the meeting the amendment of the Electoral Code, the holding of the extraordinary elections in Armenia and the issues relating to the priorities of the new government programme were discussed.
