On July 17, the RA NA President Ara Babloyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Armenia Tareq Ebrahim Mohamed Maaty, who visited the parliament on the completion of the diplomatic mission.
Welcoming the guest, the NA President thanked the Ambassador for the efforts directed to the development of the Armenian-Egyptian relations and wished him successes in his further work.
Underlining the historical traditions and commonalities of friendship between the two peoples, Ara Babloyan highlighted the development of the effective cooperation in different spheres.
In deepening of the two states’ relations the Head of the legislative body evaluated the activation of the inter-parliamentary cooperation.
The NA President expressed his gratitude to the House of Representatives of Egypt for the works being done in the Armenian Genocide recognition and condemnation.
Touching upon the regional problems, the Head of the parliament highly assessed the balanced position of Egypt in the most important issues for Armenia.
Ara Babloyan also talked about the recent events occurred in Armenia. He expressed hope that the bilateral friendly relations would be continuous.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm words, Tareq Ebrahim Mohamed Maaty noted that he was leaving our country with good memories, always remaining the friend of Armenia. He expressed conviction that the bilateral centuries-old relations would continue to further develop and strengthen.
According to the Ambassador, the Armenian-Egyptian relations have become closer due to the Armenian community of Egypt which has a great role in the development of the country.
