On June 19, the members of the RA NA Armenia-France Friendship Group met with the members of France-Armenia Friendship Group of the French Parliament.

The Head of the Friendship Group Armen Rustamyan, welcoming his French colleagues in the parliament has noted that the Armenian-French relations are special: French is one of the closest countries for Armenia. According to Armen Rustamyan, the Friendship Groups have great role in further developing the Armenian-French historical ties coming from the centuries and enriching them with concrete works. In this context the deputy evaluated the visit of the French delegation to Armenia that passed into the parliamentary system of government and being on its way to changes.

Armen Rustamyan emphasized the study and investment of the experience of French parliamentarism and democracy in our country.

“The French-Armenian friendship is one of the prior values for us irrespective of party affiliation,” the Head of the Friendship Group said. To his word, there is great potential to make investments and further develop the economic relations, to which the Parliamentary Friendship Groups would also promote.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, the Head of France-Armenia Friendship Group Jacques Marilossian highlighted the boosting of economic cooperation. According to him, the French side is ready to support especially the young French businessmen to make investments in Armenia.

The French parliamentarian expressed willingness also to support the further strengthening of democracy in Armenia.

The Member of France-Armenia Friendship Group Danièle Cazarian noted that the ongoing changes in Armenia found positive response among the international community. In her word, the political and economic new situation opens new opportunities for Armenia.

“At present and in future we’ll be Armenia’s supporter in this issue,” the French deputy assured.

The members of Armenia-France Friendship Group attached importance to bilateral parliamentary cooperation. The further deepening of the Armenian-French ties in different spheres, especially in the sphere of economy was underlined.
