On June 5, the delegation led by the RA NA Speaker Ara Babloyan received the Advisory Council Speaker of the State of Qatar Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud within the framework of his visit to the Russian Federation in Moscow.

In the course of the meeting the interlocutors touched upon the issues related to the inter-parliamentary ties, as well as the development of cooperation in different spheres between the two countries.

In the context of the expansion of the inter-parliamentary relations the RA NA President Ara Babloyan especially highlighted the necessity of similar contacts and meetings. The NA Speaker has underlined that we observe the events occurring in the State of Qatar. In the word of the Head of the RA parliament, the political and trade-economic ties between the two countries year by year get enlarged: additional efforts are necessary for reaching them to a higher level. In terms of the development of tourism and trade-economic relations the RA NA President emphasized the direct flights between Armenia and Qatar.

In his turn the Speaker of the State of Qatar expressed readiness of developing and deepening the bilateral relations.

The sides invited each other to visit their countries.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker Mikayel Melkumyan was in the delegation led by the NA Speaker.
