On 28 February 2018 at 18:00, the term of the nomination for the candidate of the President of the Republic expired, and the President of the National Assembly made a statement on the nomination for the candidate of the President which we present below:

According to the amendments of 2015, by the established order of Part 3 of Article 125 of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia and the Part 4 of Article 139 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Armenia the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly by application in written form of 65 deputies from the Republican Party of Armenia and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Armen Vardan Sargsyan was nominated in the position of the President of the Republic.

Under Part 5 of Article 139 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Armenia the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly I announce that the debate of the item of the election of the President of the Republic will begin at March 1 sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia at 10:30a.m.
