On April 29, the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs continued the work of the sitting interrupted on the previous day.

The NA deputy Arkady Khachatryan presented for debate in the second reading the legislative package on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Law on Financial System Mediator, on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Tax Code and on Amending the RA Civil Procedure Code authored by the NA Bright Armenia Faction. Arkady Khachatryan voiced the main amendments: the list of the applicants to Mediator’s Office was expanded, also legal persons and individual entrepreneurs could submit a complaint against the financial organizations that are entities of micro-entrepreneurship. They discussed the cooperative management of the system, and the formation of the new council have been. More flexible mechanisms of the Mediator’s activities have been invested.

The RA First Deputy Minister of Justice Rafik Grigoryan noted that there was effective cooperation with the authors and called on the Committee to vote for the initiative.

As the Committee Chair Mane Tandilyan has assessed, the legislative package expands the opportunity between the citizens and the Small and Medium Entrepreneurship (SME) and fully makes use of the Financial Mediator’s Office.

The representative of the Mediator’s Office also emphasized the amendments being proposed by the draft law and noted a number of systemized problems concerning the activity of the Office.

After the debates the Committee endorsed the legislative package.

The debate of the draft laws on making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Law on Banks and Banking Activity and on Making Addenda to the RA Law on Consuming Crediting was postponed for two months by the authors’ proposal,
