On November 8, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Hovhannes Sahakyan met with the Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan, Ambassador Argo Avakov and the National Programme Officers at OSCE Ruzanna Baghdasaryan and Gohar Ghazinyan.
Welcoming the guests, the Committee Chair has highly assessed the activities of the OSCE Office in Yerevan and noted that a close cooperation has always been between the National Assembly and the OSCE Office in Yerevan, as a result of which numerous programmes were implemented. Argo Avakov on his turn highlighted the tradition of formed cooperation and expressed readiness to implement joint works and programmes in future.
In the course of the meeting the sides touched upon the works done in Armenia after the Constitutional reforms, particularly the adoption of the Electoral Code, the elaboration of the NA Rules of Procedure draft law and the amendments to be made to a number of other laws and the cooperation with the OSCE Office in Yerevan in those processes. In this context the sides referred to the expertise support and the implementation of the examination by the OSCE Office in Yerevan. Mr Avakov expressed readiness to cooperate with the parliament in this issue.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
