RA National Assembly Continues Work of Extraordinary Session

On September 28, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the extraordinary sitting and passed by voting the legislative initiatives debated in the previous sitting.

The Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee adjunct to Government of the Republic of Armenia Vakhtang Mirumyan in the first reading presented the draft law on Amending the RA Law on the Remuneration of State Officials.

The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Social Affairs Hakob Hakobyan endorsed the draft law.

Afterwards the deputies in the second reading debated the draft law the RA Tax Code. The key speaker Vakhtang Mirumyan has informed that during the period between first and second reading the deputies and the businessmen presented numerous recommendations, most of them were accepted, and as a result, the draft law was improved.

The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Vardan Ayvazyan endorsed the draft law. He noted that during the period from the first to the second reading the draft law was incomparably improved, numerous hearings and debates took place, and the MPs' basic proposals were taken into consideration.

The NA deputies Khachatur Kokobelyan, Mikayel Melkumyan, Hrant Bagratyan, Alexander Arzumanyan, Zaruhi Postanjyan, Tevan Poghosyan and Gurgen Arsenyan expressed their views on the draft law.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker delivered an extraordinary speech and highlighted the recommendations sounded on the draft law in his colleagues' speeches and opined that everybody had the same approach: to improve the draft law and the economy. He noted that the RPA Faction very actively worked, there were debates with the businessmen and the representatives of the small and medium entrepreneurship, the NGOs and the Government members. In Eduard Sharmazanov's word, the goal of the RPA is to have a tax code and flexible system that will lead Armenia not to shocks, but to sustainable development.

In his final speech the key speaker Vakhtang Mirumyan touched upon the deputies' interpellations and remarks, gave clarifications.

The parliament debated in the second reading and for completely passing the draft law on Amending the RA Law on the RA Government Structure and the legislative package on Amending the RA Law on Human Reproductive Health and Reproductive Rights of Humans and on Amending the RA Criminal Code.

The National Assembly will continue the work of the extraordinary sitting on September 29.
