National Assembly Begins the Work of the Four-day Sittings

On May 18 the RA National Assembly began the work of the next four-day sittings. The deputies welcomed within the framework of the NA Open Doors programme the chairs of the Pupils’ Board of 33 Senior Schools from Yerevan and Ararat Marz, who visited the parliament and observed the work of the NA sitting.

After approving the draft laws of the agendas of the seventh session of the NA fifth convocation and May 18-21 four-day sittings the deputies by voting passed the draft laws debated at the NA previous four-day sittings.

Afterwards the deputies continued debating in the first reading the draft law “On Amending the RA Law on Guaranteeing the Compensation of the Physical Entities’ Bank Deposits.”

The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gagik Minasyan presented the endorsement of the Head Committee.

By the presentation of the RA First Minister of Agriculture Armen Harutyunyan the MPs went on debating the financing agreement of the programme “Financing Support of the Sub-structures and the Villages ” signed in Rome on 12 November 2014 between the Republic of Armenia and International Fund for Agricultural Development.

The member of the abovementioned Committee Lernik Alexanyan presented the endorsement and gave clarifications over some concerns voiced on the agreement.

The member of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Samvel Farmanyan conveyed the endorsement of the Committee to the deputies.

The deputies Hrant Bagratyan, Mher Shahgeldyan, Khosrov Harutyunyan, Mikayel Melkumyan presented their viewpoints on the agreement.

The debate of the issue will continue at May 19 sitting of the National Assembly.
