On January 26 Eduard Sharmazanov, the RA NA Deputy Speaker, the Co-Chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Cooperation between the RA National Assembly and the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus met with Arto Tavitian, the Representative of the Armenian community of Cyprus, the Co-Chair of the State Committee of Cyprus on the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.
Welcoming the guest the NA Deputy Speaker touched upon the events to be held related to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide. In this context Eduard Sharmazanov highlighted the role of the Cypriot Armenian community and noted that the RA, Artsakh and the Diaspora should be united both in the international condemnation of the Genocide and in the international recognition of the Nagorno Karabakh.
The interlocutors discussed the details of holding an exhibition dedicated to the Armenian Genocide in the parliament of Cyprus.
