Dear compatriots, devotees of science and education, dear teachers and pupils. Today we celebrate the Knowledge Day, one of our important holidays, as the Mashtots golden script, the alphabet created by him, the education and science formed on that basis have been the most important factors of nation’s preservation, formation of the national identity and the Armenian people’s eternity.

Our wise and far-sighted ancestors understood quite well that the script and culture are the most powerful force of a nation, which is able with its flight of mind, strength of spirit and its pictures of beauty soften even the barbarous tribes’ hardened hearts, enforce respect to itself and its work and predetermine the procedure of history with civilized nations. Today more than ever the role of science, education and creative work is big in self-establishment of individuals, families, nations and peoples and making more welfare the life.

I wish the teachers prudence and virtue, the pupils keen-wittedness and commitment, the devotees of science flight of mind and new achievements, all creative people feeling and enjoying the result of their work and all of us big responsibility for nurturing and preserving the heritage inherited to us from our ancestors, enriching it in a new way and in conveying it to our generations.
