Parliament Continues the Work of the Four-Day Sittings

On February 26 the RA National Assembly continued the work of the four-day sittings and by voting passed the agenda items debated on the previous day.

After voting the deputies in the first reading debated the bill “On Amending the RA Law on Local Self-Government” authored by the government, which presented the First Deputy Minister of the RA Territorial Administration Vache Terteryan.

The NA Vice President Hermine Naghdalyan delivered a speech on the issue under debate.

The Chairman of the Head, NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration and Local Self-Government Stepan Margaryan submitted the committee’s endorsement.

Then the parliament debated the Convention “On Freedom of Transit” and the issue “On Ratifying the Statute.” The key reporter, the RA First Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication Hrant Beglaryan presented the convention signed on April 20, 1921.

Samvel Farmanyan submitted the endorsement of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations.

Afterwards the RA Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasyan submitted to the parliament for debate the package of draft laws “On Amending the RA Family Code” and “On Amending the RA Law on Civil Status Acts.”

The NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs endorsed the package, which presented the Committee Chair Elinar Vardanyan.

Davit Harutyunyan submitted for debate in the first reading the RA draft law “On Amending the RA Law “Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly” authored by deputies Davit Harutyunyan and Arpine Hovhannisyan.

The deputy Hovhannes Sahakyan presented the endorsement of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs.

In his final speech Davit Harutyunyan has substantiated that the problem is within the framework of the authorities of the Committee on Ethics.

The National Assembly will continue the work of the four-day sittings on February 27.
