At the Sittings of the NA Standing Committees

On March 16 sittings of the 8 committees of the National Assembly were convened.

The Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs presided over by Gagik Minasyan debated four international agreements, proposing to include them in the agenda of the upcoming four-day sittings with endorsement.

Vardan Aramyan, Deputy Minister of Finance, presented three agreements to the deputies’ assessment.

The Republic of Armenia has signed loan agreements “Third Programme of Development Policy” with the International Bank of Reconstruction and Development, as well as International Development Association.

The draft law “On Use of Genetically Changed Organisms” and in connection with that amendments being proposed in the laws “On Licensing,” “On State Duty” and the Code “On Administrative Infringements,” “RA Criminal Code” were on the agenda of the sitting of the NA Committee on Agriculture and Environment.

The NA Standing Committee on Territorial Management and Local Self-Government presided over by Rafik Grigoryan debated in the second reading the package of bills “On Amending the Code on RA Administrative Infringements,” “On Amending the RA Law on Local Self-Government,” “On Amending the RA Law on Local Duties and Payments.”

The Committee in the second reading debated the bill “On Amending the RA Law on Geographical Names.”

The NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs presided over by Hrayr Karapetyan debated “The Disciplinary Rules of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia” submitted for the second reading.

The NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs presided over by Vardan Bostanjyan debated the bills “On Amending the RA Law on Taxes,” “On Amending the RA Law on Licensing,” “On Amending the RA Law on Geodesy and Mapping.”

The NA Standing Committee on Health Care, Maternity and Childhood presided over by Ara Babloyan debated the bill “On Amending the RA Law on Human Reproductive Health and Reproductive Rights.”

The RA Deputy Finance Minister Vardan Aramyan presented for debate three international agreements.

The RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs presided over by Davit Harutyunyan in the first reading debated the package of bills initiated by the deputies of the Heritage faction.

The NA deputy Davit Harutyunyan submitted for the first reading the bill “On Amending the RA Criminal Procedure Code.”

The NA deputy Larisa Alaverdyan presented the bill for the first reading“On Amending the RA Law on Holidays and Memorial Days. It is proposed to define April 7 as a non-working day, giving people opportunity to take part in the church ceremonies dedicated to St Mary.

The Government did not find expedient to pass the draft law.

The Committee debated in the second reading and endorsed the bill “On Amending the RA Civil Procedure Code,” and the package of bills “On Amending the RA Law on RA Citizen’s Passport,” “On Amending the RA Electoral Code,” “On Amending the RA Law on Identity Cards.

The next sitting of the Committee will be held on Monday, March 19.
