On February 8 within the framework of the “Open Lesson” programme of the National Assembly the guests of the parliament were the students and professors of the International Academy of Education, who after taking part at the sitting of the parliament met with the NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov. The deputy of the Heritage faction Anahit Bakhshyan was also present at the meeting.

First the students congratulated Eduard Sharmazanov on being elected the NA Deputy Speaker, afterwards reciprocally warm and immediate talk was held. The students’ questions related mainly to the reforms of the educational sphere, in particular, the issues of passing to the Bologna educational system, the continuity of the Youth Parliament after the parliamentary elections, the youth employment, etc.

The NA Deputy Speaker gave exhaustive answers to the above interpellations. Particularly, according to Sharmazanov, in the educational sphere any reform should be directed to the improvement of the quality of education, obtaining higher education, the creation of opportunities for preparing competitive specialists. The NA Heritage faction deputy Anahit Bakhshyan noted that as a result of Bologna process the Armenian students would have an opportunity to continue their education overseas.

Welcoming the idea of the Youth Parliament, the NA Deputy Speaker has opined that it gives the youth a good opportunity for self-manifestation.

Highlighting such meetings with the students Eduard Sharmazanov ensured that he was ready to regularly meet with them.
