On November 25 at the NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs moderated by Aram Safaryan the RA bill “On Provision of Women’s and Men’s Equal Rights and Equal Opportunities,” submitted by the RA Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Filaret Berikyan, was debated in the first reading.
The Committee Chairman Aram Safaryan proposed to organize parliamentary hearings on the bill and hear the opinions of the concerning sides.
The Committee endorsed the debated bill to be included in the draft agendas of the tenth session of the NA fourth convocation and December 5-6 sittings.
The Committee decided to organize parliamentary hearings on December 13 on the bill “National Strategy of the Protection of Human Rights” elaborated by the inter-departmental commission of the National Security Council.
By another decision of the Committee parliamentary hearings will be organized on the RA bill “On Provision of Women’s and Men’s Equal Rights and Equal Opportunities” submitted in the legislative initiative by the RA Government after being adopted in the first reading.
A sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport , presided over by Artak Davtyan, and the debate of the four legislative initiatives included in the agenda was postponed by the proposal of the authors, the ARF faction deputies.
