In accordance with the Article 20 of the RA NA Rules of Procedure, on November 21 the RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan reaffirmed his resignation from the chairmanship of the National Assembly, which he submitted at the National Assembly sitting on November 14.

In accordance with the paragraph 2 of the Article 19 of the RA Rules of Procedure, if the National Assembly Speaker’s position is vacant, the duties shall be carried out by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, who got higher vote when elected. Thus, the RA NA Vice Speaker Samvel Nikoyan, who has been elected with higher votes (104 votes), will carry out the NA Speaker’s responsibilities.
