On December 8 within the framework of the NA Open Doors policy students of the senior classes of several schools of Yerevan Shengavit administrative region visited NA National Assembly. They attended the sitting of the parliament. Later the Speaker of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan met with them and held the open lesson.

The head of the parliament considered symbolic and memorable that the children visited the National Assembly and took part at the sitting, during which the 2011 State Draft Budget of the Republic of Armenia was debated. During the talk with the schoolchildren, in response to the question concerning the repairing of the schools, Hovik Abrahamyan touched upon the possibilities of the budget, noting that because of the limited budget it was not possible to immediately solve the issue of the repairing of all schools. But the state step-by-step implements that programme. The director of one of the schools raised the issue of heating of 4 schools of Shengavit. The NA Speaker willingly proposed to submit the relevant documents and later discuss the problem of solving it.

In the course of the meeting with the schoolchildren Hovik Abrahamyan also touched upon the foreign policy, presenting the situation in the processes of the settlement of NK issue and the Armenian-Turkish relations, answered in detail the issues of the schoolchildren concerning those themes.

After the meeting the schoolchildren of Shengavit got acquainted with the reconstructed hall of the sittings of the parliament, where they had their photos taken with the NA Speaker.
