On June 28 the President of RA National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan received the member of the Romanian Senate, the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Finance and Economy of the Senate, the Chairman of the Armenians’ Union of Romania Varuzhan Voskanyan.

Welcoming the guest the President of RA National Assembly highly assessed his role and potential in the development of the Armenian-Romanian relations. Hovik Abrahamyan noted that Parliamentary Friendship Groups function in the parliaments of the two countries, and he considered necessary the activation of the inter-parliamentary relations and mutual visits. He highlighted the cooperation in international structures.

The member of the Senate of Romania Varuzhan Voskanyan presented the structure of the Senate and the parliament of Romania, their activities. Regarding the Armenian community of Romania, Varuzhan Voskanyan told the President of RA National Assembly that our Romanian-Armenian compatriots are very respected, and the community is rather influential.

The interlocutors also touched upon regional issues, the NK problem, the Armenian-Turkish relations, the influence of the financial-economic crisis on the economy.

The President of RA National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan conveyed the invitation of visiting Armenia to the President of the Senate through the member of Armenian origin of the Senate of Romania.
