On November 6 President of the National Assembly Mr. Hovik Abrahamyan received North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary-General's Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia Mr. Robert Simmons.
Welcoming the guest, the President of the National Assembly highlighted the cooperation with NATO and expressed the willingness of the Armenian side to develop it. The interlocutors agreed that it should be transparent and understandable for the Armenian society. In that context they discussed the RA NA initiatives within NATO Parliamentary Assembly framework, as well as the reforms being implemented in the direction of the civil control of the armed forces in Armenia and the cooperation programs in the sphere of the management of emergency situations.
During the meeting the interlocutors also touched upon the regional security issues.
