The Minister-President of the Free State of Saxony of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) Michael Kretschmer received the delegation led by the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan.

The RA NA President noted that the stable development of the friendly relations with Germany is important for Armenia.

“Having as an example the relations formed between Armenia and the Landtag of Saxony-Anhalt, we mention with joy that the boosting and development of the cooperation with different states of Germany has already become a good tradition,” he noted.

Alen Simonyan underscored the RA Government always improves the investment environment, creates special conditions for the perspective projects. Stressing that Germany is one of the technological leaders in the world, the NA President invited the Minister-President to visit Armenia with the delegation of businessmen. At the meeting the perspectives of cooperation in a number of directions were discussed.

The sides discussed issues on the security of the region, Alen Simonyan presented details about the security problems facing Armenia and Armenian-populated Nagorno Karabakh.

“The war unleashed against Nagorno Karabakh, the threats against the sovereign territory of Armenia, the reality of Armenian prisoners of war, the humanitarian crisis caused because of blocking of Lachin Corridor, the bypass of the decision of the International Court of Justice against Azerbaijan puts under question the future of the democratic state in this world,” the NA President said, adding that he expects from his German colleagues support to Armenia, proving that the democratic state is protected.
