Eduard Aghajanyan: Agreement was Reached on Numerous Paragraphs, But Mutual Agreement was Not Succeeded to Reach on Some Paragraphs
1 / 12

On November 8, 2022 the parliament of Azerbaijan adopted a statement on 44-day war, where formulations were used, which are unacceptable for the Armenia Faction. The essence of the Artsakh conflict is distorted, and the reasons of the 44-day war are also distorted. Demands are presented to Armenia, which are unacceptable and condemnable for the Faction. Andranik Tevanyan said about this at December 2 sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, presenting the issue The Statement of the RA National Assembly Related to the Statement of Parliament of Azerbaijan of November 8, 2022 authored by the Armenia Faction.

“We believe that the Parliament of Armenia is obliged to answer Azerbaijan at institutional level, answer at a level of a state structure of adequate status,” the rapporteur underlined.

In his co-report the Committee Chair Eduard Aghajanyan noted that during the previous three days, discussions were held with the members of the Armenia Faction regarding the draft. A mutual agreement was reached on the numerous paragraphs, but agreement was not succeeded to reach on some paragraphs, thus the Civil Contract Faction will vote abstained to the statement presented by the opposition faction.

As a result of voting, the draft was not endorsed. It is designed to debate after a short while, at the NA extraordinary sitting convened today.
