NA Inquiry Committee Convenes Sitting

On January 11, the Inquiry Committee for Studying the Use of Funds Collected by the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund and Transferred to the State Budget of the Republic of Armenia convened the regular sitting. The Committee Chair Artsvik Minasyan moderated the sitting. The Committee members from the NA three factions and experts attended the sitting.

Artsvik Minasyan first of all has documented that the Committee is not going to discuss the administration transactions of the Fund, then address the key issues. The MP has stressed that the goal is to clarify to what extent the means received from the Government and certain expenditures correspond with the legislation in force and if the directions of expenditure serve for the goal of money collecting organization.

The Executive Director of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund Haykak Arshamyan has noted that the financial and programme reports of the Fund are available on the website of the State Revenue Committee, approved by the Board of Trustees. In parallel with the details, he has informed that about 750.000 donors took part in the national money collection We Are Our Borders: Everybody for Artsakh launched on September 27, 2020. The launch of the money collecting was agreed with the Board of Trustees, as well as the Government.

The deputies addressed questions to Haykak Arshamyan. They related to the big and average volumes, the accounts and activities of the Fund, the distrust existing towards the structure among the public, as well as donation, the circumstances being as a basis for donation.

Stemming from the peculiarities of the directions under debate, the Inquiry Committee continued the works behind closed doors.
