On August 9, the first session of the RA NA eighth convocation continued the debate of the item on the election of the Chairs of the NA Standing Committees.
The Civil Contract Faction nominated the member of the faction Andranik Kocharyan as a candidate for the post of the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security.
The MP of the faction Armen Khachatryan presented the candidate’s biography. He highlighted the candidate’s human and professional skills. “I am sure that Andranik Kocharyan will carry out the functions of the Chair of the Standing Committee with honor,” Khachatryan said.
The candidate for the Chair of the NA Standing Committee thanked the Civil Contract Faction for nominating him. In his speech, Andranik Kocharyan referred to the activities of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security headed by him during the NA seventh convocation. He highly assessed the work done by the Inquiry Committee for Examining the Circumstances of the Military Activities of April 2016 adjunct to the Standing Committee.
