The parliament debated in the second reading and for completely adopting the law on Higher Education and Science and the legislative package designing amendments and addenda to a number of enclosed laws.

The RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Vahram Dumanyan presented the implemented amendments after the first reading.

The key rapporteur noted that the bill has been revised as a result of numerous concerned discussions.

By presenting the important amendments, the Minister noted that the order of the Presidents’ election and the age restriction were clarified.

The provision on Head of Chair was amended and defined that it would be considered an academic post.

In the co-report, Hovhannes Hovhannisyan presented the endorsement of the Head Committee. He noted that a lot of experts and specialists had worked on the bill. The most part of the opposition deputies’ proposals was accepted: “We succeeded in consolidation over this bill.”
