Works of Joint Sitting of Armenian-Russian Inter-Parliamentary Committees Summed Up

At June 5 press conference, the member of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Anush Begloian and My Step Faction, Sos Avetisyan (My Step Faction) Arman Babajanyan representing Bright Armenia Faction and the Secretary of the Prosperous Armenia Faction Arman Abovyan presented details about the works of the joint sitting of the RF Federal Assembly Federation Council International Affairs Committee and the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations held in Moscow on May 30.

Anush Begloian noted that the delegation led by the Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Ruben Rubinyan, met with the Deputy Chair of the RF FA Federation Council Yury Vorobyov, who highlighted the consistent work of the Armenian-Russian Inter-Parliamentary Committee. According to the MP, at the joint sitting of the Committees items of common interest on the inter-parliamentary platforms were discussed. The speaker has touched upon the efficiency of the format of the relevant Committees, noting that it is a platform of open and transparent discussions, which allows studying the experience of the two countries and outline new perspectives.

On June 26-27, 2019 the sitting of the RF-Armenia Inter-Parliamentary Committee will be held in Moscow, where the problems touched upon at the joint sitting will be discussed.

According to Arman Abovyan, during the meetings the Russian side’s interest has been obvious with respect to deepening the dialogue with Armenia and developing the cooperation.

Arman Babajanyan recorded that at the meetings the anxieties, concerns caused after the revolution were dissipated by the Russian side. Once again it has been underlined that the existing formats of cooperation are subject to revision.

Sos Avetisyan added that the meetings and discussions were held in the atmosphere of sincere and trust.
