101 years passed from the battles of Gharakilisa, Bash Aparan and Sardarapat, where our people’s fate was resolved and the First Republic of Armenia was born. On May 28, on the occasion of Republic Day the RA NA President Ararat Mirzoyan, the NA Vice President Alen Simonyan, deputies, the RA NA Chief of Staff-Secretary General Tigran Galstyan and representatives of the NA Staff visited Sardarapat Memorial Complex, laid a wreath and flowers at the monument of the military who had become immortal in the fatal battle for our people.
The Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II held a ceremony of Repose of Souls. In solemn conditions the monument dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the founder of the First Republic Aram Manukyan opened.
The higher leadership of the country and the guests observed the exhibits telling about the heroic battle in the National Museum of the Armenian Ethnography and Liberation Struggle History of Sardarapat Heroic Battle Memorial Complex and got acquainted with the documents.
