Armenians Should be Able to be in Russia Without Visa for Ninety Days

RA NA Speaker and RF State Duma Vice-Speaker are of this opinion.

On April 22, Artur Baghdasaryan, RA NA Speaker, accepted Georgy Boos, Deputy Speaker of RF State Duma.

Deputy Speaker of RF State Duma handed over NA Speaker the letter of condolences Boris Gryzlov, RF State Duma Speaker connected with the 90th anniversary of the 1915 Armenian Genocide.

Mr. Baghdasaryan mentioned that year by year the number of the countries that recognize and condemn the Armenian Genocide is increasing, which speaks about the consciousness of human responsibility before the generations and making active the process of recognition of the Armenian Genocide in the world.

During the meeting the inter-state and inter-Parliamentary relations between two countries, issues concerning the agreements achieved during the official visit of RA NA Speaker to Russia were discussed.

On the suggestion of RA NA Speaker Artur Baghdasaryan, the possibilities of regulating the issues of the status of Armenians living Russia in a legislative or legal-contract field were discussed, in the result of which Armenians, instead of three days, may reside in Russia for ninety days without a visa. Mr. Boos suggested regulating the issue in a legal-contract field. The parties thought it important to re-set working the enterprises transferred to RF by “Debt-for-Equity” agreement.

Other issues were also discussed during the meeting.
