On October 24, the inaugural meeting of the EU-Armenia Parliamentary Partnership Committee was held presided over by the Co-Chairs of the EU-Armenia Parliamentary Partnership Committee (PPC) Armen Ashotyan and Sajjad Karim in Strasbourg.
This parliamentary format of the new level, which is designed by the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership, replaces the format of the EU-Armenia Cooperation Committee and is called for to strengthen the cooperation of the European Parliament and the RA National Assembly.
The more extended format of the partnership gives opportunity the National Assembly to elaborate and use necessary mechanisms for strengthening parliamentary oversight, the rise of the awareness among the society and their involvement.
At the meeting Armen Ashotyan as a historical event has qualified the beginning of the partnership in the new format, underlining all bases exist for strengthening the parliamentary partnership, as well as for recording more tangible results between the European Parliament and the RA National Assembly.
