“Dear compatriots,
I cordially congratulate you on the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan foundation. Under the glance of Ararat Yerevan has become from the fortress-city into a rapidly developing great and beautiful city, has turned from the military-defense structure into the great deed in the urban development, has obtained Tamanyan like unique architectural features of urban development, has created its unique environment of Yerevan and eventually, it is now the capital of all Armenians. And it has become the topic of everybody’s love, care and pride, and its development symbolized the rebirth of Armenia and the Armenians.
Today, Yerevan is not only the administrative centre of Yerevan, but also the economic, scientific, educational and cultural capital, where numerous layers of history have been merged, and where at least during the last era, has developed the Armenian public-political mind, has formulated the all-Armenian newest ideas and has made them a reality.
Today, Yerevan is among the capitals going on through the sustainable development of many states of the world, it lives with the breath of new times, always surprises us with its classical beauty and colouring.
On this festive day, casting a retrospective glance to the twenty-eight centuries of Yerevan and remembering with gratitude those who built and prospered our city, we should address special words of gratitude to all those people, who with their labourious work do their best for the development beatifying of the capital, make Yerevan a centre of innovative approaches in all spheres of the city life and the community government and call into life in other settlements of Armenia.
Armenia has done a lot for the prosperity of Yerevan, but has luxuriously compensated it, and as a capital, has been a guideline for the development of the whole country, and serving great opportunities of its educational, medical, scientific, industrial and other spheres for the development of far and near, big and small settlements.

Today is a holiday for all of us, and on behalf of the parliament of the Republic of Armenia I congratulate everyvody on the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan foundation.
