Hovhannes Hovhannisyan

Born on March 5, 1980 in Yerevan.

1996 - Graduated from the Yerevan #149 foreign languages college.

2000 - Graduated from the Faculty of Theology of Yerevan State University.

2002 - MS degree of the same Faculty. Simultaneously Public Administration School of the Republic of Armenia. State Servant.

2007 - Post-graduate at the Department of the History and Theory of Religion of Yerevan State University.

Doctor for Historical Sciences, associate professor.

Attended the following training courses:

Junior Faculty Development Programme at Vanderbilt University (JFDP) (2008, USA), German academic support post-doctoral fellowship at Tubingen University (2010-2011, Germany), Diplomatic Academy of the Republic of Armenia (2010, Yerevan), post-doctoral training course at Yale University (2012-2013, USA). Research work at Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity in Gottingen (2014, Germany).

Since 2003 - Lecturer at the YSU Chair of History and Theory of Religion.

2006 - 2008 - Lecturer at Gavar State University.

Since 2014 - Lecturer at the American University of Armenia.

Lectured at V. Bryusov State Linguistic and M. Heratsi State Medical Universities.

2014 - Co-founder of the Public Policy Institute of Research Centre.

May 21, 2018 - January 14, 2019 - Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia

Member of several international academic organizations.

Author of one monograph and over 40 publications in authoritative international magazines.

December 9, 2018 - Elected Member of the National Assembly from the national electoral list of the “My Step” alliance of parties.

With two children.
