Born on March 9, 1957 in Vanadzor.

1978 - Graduated from the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of H. Tumanyan Vanadzor State Pedagogical Institute. Physicist. Pedagogue.

1978 -1983 - Teacher at General school of Yeghegnut in Gugark region.

1983 -1990 - Engineer at Vanadzor “Automation” SPU.

1997 - 1999 - The First Deputy, and then Deputy to the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia.

1999 - 2003 - Head of the Division of Education and Culture of the Center Community District of Yerevan.

1990 - 1995 - Deputy of the Supreme Council (electoral district #103.) Secretary of the Standing Committee on Education, Science, Language and Culture of the SC. Member of the ANM faction.

1995 - 1999 - Deputy of the National Assembly (electoral district #64.) Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth Affairs of the National Assembly. Deputy Chair of the Committee on Science and Education of CIS Parliamentary Assembly. Member of “Republic” faction. Deputy Chair of ANM Department.
