Mikayel Melkumyan

Born on April 1, 1962 in Yerevan.

1983 - 1985 - Served in the Soviet Army.

1983 - Graduated from the faculty of Economics Planning of the Yerevan State National Institute of Economy (ASUE.) Economist.

1987 - Postgraduate of ASUE.

1994, 1997 - 1998 - Trained at the Chamber of Commerce and the University of Lyon, “Paris 12” (France.) Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor.

1987 - 1990 - Lecturer at Industrial Economics Chair of ASUE.

1994 - 1995 - Expert for the Standing Committee on local self-government affairs of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Armenia.

1998 - 1999 - Advisor to the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications of the Republic of Armenia.

1999 - 2000 - Head of Staff of the Ministry of Social Safety of the Republic of Armenia.

2000 - Professor of the Chair of Microeconomics and Business Organization of the Armenian State University of Economics (ASUE.)

2000 - 2003 - Deputy Minister for the State Property Management of the Republic of Armenia.

2003 - 2004 - Deputy Head of the Department for State Property Management AG of the Republic of Armenia.

2009 - 2012 - Head of the Chair of Microeconomics and Business Organization ASEU.

May 6, 2012 - Elected Deputy of the National Assembly by the proportional electoral system from the “Prosperous Armenia” party.

The author of scientific works, including monographs and textbooks.

Married, with three children.
