Born on June 28, 1957 in the village of Hoktember in the Hoktemberyan region.

1984 - Graduated from the Leninakan branch of the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute. Engineer technologist.

1975-1977 - Served in the Soviet Army. 1978 - Worked as a worker in the Armavir Construction Materials Complex (Construction Materials LLC.) Worked as a worker, chief of mine in the records section of the same organization, deputy director, director and president of the council.

1999-2003  - Member of Parliament (electoral district #40.)  Member of the Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs of the National Assembly. Member of the “Unity” Faction.

2003-2007 -  Member of Parliament (electoral district #30.) Member of the Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs of the National Assembly. Member of the RPA (Republican Party of Armenia Faction.)

On May 12, 2007 - Elected as a Member of Parliament by the proportional system from the Republican Party of Armenia/RPA.

He was awarded a souvenir - medal by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. Was awarded St. Grigor Lusavorich high order of honour of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church by the Catholicos of All Armenians as an assessment for his numerous works done in the national-church life.

Mr. Gevorgyan is married with three children.
