On October 19, within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Poland the delegation led by the RA NA President Ara Babloyan met with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, Minister of Culture and National Heritage Piotr Gliński.
The RA NA President noted that the representatives of Poland’s Armenian community had been involved in different spheres of Poland’s public life through many centuries. Ara Babloyan highlighted the positive attitude of the Polish authorities towards the Armenian community.
By the RA NA President’s assessment, the Armenian-Polish cooperation in the cultural and scientific-educational sphere is at high level: during this year being jubilant for the Armenian community in Poland and in Armenia numerous cultural events have been planned, and are already held, which are the vivid evidence of the Armenian-Polish friendship.
“The organisation of similar events is of significant importance in strengthening of the friendship between the two peoples and getting introduced with each other’s cultures,” Ara Babloyan said.
The Head of the RA Parliament highlighted the development of the decentralised cooperation between Armenia and Poland, noting that considerable works had been done in this sphere. Cooperation is developed between different cities of the two countries and mutual visits are regularly held.
Regarding the development of the bilateral economic cooperation Mr Babloyan emphasized the activities of the Armenian-Polish Inter-Governmental Economic Joint Committee, and in parallel with its sittings forums with the participation of the Armenian and Polish businessmen are also organized.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland Piotr Gliński, talking about the relations between the two countries, has noted that the Polish people have special stressed attitude towards Armenians, which is also conditioned by the great contribution that Armenians have had in Poland. The Deputy Prime Minister especially assessed the effective cooperation in the sphere of culture. He has assured that the Polish side is open for further cooperation.
Mr Gliński presented in detail the last achievements of the activities of the Ministry of Culture, touched upon the different events being held, including the creation of the National Monuments Preservation Foundation.
