On December 15, the RA NA President Galust Sahakyan received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea Park Ro-byug.
Welcoming the newly appointed Ambassador, Galust Sahakyan congratulated him on the occasion of his appointment and wished him effective work, expressing hope that with his activities he would promote the deepening of the parliamentary ties between the two countries.
The Head of the parliament thanked the Republic of Korea for supporting in technical re-equipment of the NA Plenary Session Hall. Galust Sahakyan expressed his gratitude for the exhibition dedicated to the Armenian Genocide Centennial in the Reception Hall of the Parliament of the Republic of Korea. The NA President expressed his gratitude for supporting in the activation and deepening of the Armenian-Korean inter-parliamentary relations. The Head of the Parliament also highlighted the mutually beneficial cooperation in the trade-economic, cultural and educational spheres with Korea.
Thanking for the warm reception, Park Ro-byug noted that he would do his utmost to develop and boost the inter-state relations.
Touching upon the regional problems, the Ambassador has stated that the Republic of Korea sees the solution of the Karabakh problem exclusively through peaceful means within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
Highlighting the mutually beneficial cooperation, the Ambassador also expressed hope that the Armenian Parliament will ratify the Agreement on Cooperation in the Spheres of Culture, Sport and Education between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Korea signed in Seoul on July 4, 2014.
Galust Sahakyan thanked the Republic of Korea for having balanced position on the issues of paramount importance for Armenia.
The interlocutors emphasized the mutual visits of the Friendship Groups of the parliaments of the two countries and the cooperation on the international parliamentary platforms.
