On October 30 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan received the Indian Goodwill Parliamentary Delegation led by the Parliamentary Affairs Minister of State Paban Singh Ghatowar.
Welcoming the guests the NA President has noted that Armenia highly appreciates the warm, friendly relations with India, which goes back to the 16th century. He has highlighted the further deepening of the relations with India, in bilateral, as well as multilateral dimension, noting with satisfaction that the Armenian-Indian relations are having a new phase of development in different spheres of cooperation. Mr Abrahamyan deemed necessary the further development and deepening of inter-parliamentary cooperation and bilateral contacts. He highly assessed the positive cooperation between Armenia and India within the framework of international organizations. Touching upon the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Hovik Abrahamyan expressed hope that the Indian Parliament would show an initiative to refer to that reality.
Thanking for the reception the Indian Parliamentary Affairs Minister of State has noted that India highlights the further deepening of the relations with Armenia. To his conviction their visit will promote the further development of bilateral cooperation and the strengthening of inter-parliamentary relations. Mr Singh Ghatowar also emphasized the cooperation in international structures.
The interlocutors considered important the deepening of cooperation in the spheres of information and high technologies, education, science, health care, pharmacy and other spheres. Both sides stressed the necessity of development of economic cooperation.
In the course of the meeting they also touched upon the regional problems.
